the beautiful dozen roses my daughter and grandchildren gave me for my birthday this year. they were just what i needed. they also remind me of my mother and grandmother.
Story: I loved giving mama flowers because they made her smile. I gave her those weeds for years. When I got grown and had sons they gave me the same weeds!! Now I have 10 grandkids that give me those weeds. I just smile and put them in water with my heart filled with love.
I remember picking flowers for my mother while outside. They were pretty purple flowers. I took them in to her with such pride. I found out years later I was giving her weeds!!! They looked like flowers to me at 6. She just put them in a vase and smiled.
Story: My grandma & grandpa were the two most special people in my life. They were truly a gift from God. They could grow anything. Their rose gardens were awesome. They taught me that gardening was fun and rewarding. I had a special straw hat to wear on those hot summer days and grandma always had a jug of sweet ice tea to refresh us. Lucky for us grandpa had an 8 millimeter camera and loved to film me and my sisters and their gorgeous rose gardens. I need a box of tissues when I watch those movies.
My grandparents were gardeners and they would take me with them during the summer. It was our special time together. I can't look at a well groomed yard without smiling and thinking about those precious days spent with them.
Story: This is Chance. I purchased this dog when my last grandchild was born. We raised him to go to our grandson when he was older. Chance only made it until last year and we had to put him to sleep because of his health he was twelve. We are both very sad and he is very missed.
Story: My daughter asked for Kleenex for Christmas because she always has allergies so one of the things she wanted most was Kleenex in her stocking!
